Simulation Tools

Medividia takes the advantage of the best-in-class software for structural, hemodynamic and multiphysics simulations.

Medical Fluid Structure Interaction Simulations: FlowVision & Abaqus FSI

This software couple offers a stable, easy to use FSI environment. Furthermore, through this coupled FSI approach one can address the often-associated challenges in medical simulations, specifically in cardiovascular simulations. These are namely, complex and highly deformable objects under fluid loading, objects which may come into contact when operating (e.g. heart valves), full closure of flow channels, as well as physiological flow boundary conditions (LPN models such as 3-element Windkessel boundary condition or more complex)

Medical Computational Fluid Dynamics Simulations: FlowVision

FlowVision is an end-to-end CFD software with pre/post processor, a unique solver and a unique automatic grid generator. The suitability of this software for medical CFD and FSI simulations is based on a few features. This software is based on so called SGGR grid, thus it resolves the geometry of biological tissues to the best extent, which is a plus for wall shear stress predictions. It allows for creating the physiologically relevant boundary conditions with ease and has an automatic grid generator. Because of these features, Medividia uses FlowVision for both standalone CFD simulations and FSI. Examples to standalone CFD simulations could be isolated ventricular assisting device simulations or transcatether heat delivery systems etc.

Medical Structural Simulations based on FEA: Abaqus

Abaqus is a structural FEA software capable of performing stable and accurate calculations even in cases where large deformations exist. Either through in-built material models or extended tissue models, Medividia will be able to help you obtain an accurate description of the physics.

On top of FEA modeling for FSI, Medividia employs Abaqus software for standalone applications such as dry deployment/intervention studies, preparatory deployment simulations e.g. balloon operation in balloon expandable stents etc.

Reverse Engineering of Biological Structures: ReverseVidia

Starting point of a medical simulation could be a patient specific medical scan, or a point cloud generated by an average statistical model.

In these cases, it is necessary to take preparatory steps related to the geometry before starting the simulation preprocessing.

ReverseVidia is a high-end data translation tool used to mesh, re-mesh, perform automatic repairs and sew operations on complex biological geometries.
